Virginia Beach, VA (July 7, 2016) $2 billion dollar Chartway Federal Credit Union and its divisions of HeritageWest and SouthWest Community proudly announces that seven student members have been awarded $3,000 scholarships, totaling $21,000 in academic aid.
For 27 years the credit union"s Directors" Memorial Scholarship program has annually awarded scholarships to deserving student members pursuing graduate or undergraduate degrees. This year"s recipients include four students from Virginia and three from schools in Utah, as follows:
- Paul Martin, III (Chesapeake, VA) attending Old Dominion University
- Christopher Selig (Virginia Beach, VA) attending Virginia Tech
- Dalianna Vaysman (Chesapeake, VA) attending the University of Virginia
- Ezra Washington (Virginia Beach, VA) attending Virginia Commonwealth University
- Chad Call�(St. George, UT) attending Utah Valley University
- Andrew Griffin (Washington, UT) attending Brigham Young University
- Aubrey Grimshaw (Enoch, UT)� attending The Massachusetts Institute of Technology
Recipients were selected on the basis of need, activities, academic performance, an essay, and a letter of reference.

The Director"s Memorial Scholarship program was created in 1989 by its board members in recognition of the credit union"s success.� Since its inception, the credit union has awarded more than $200,000 in student scholarships to its members.
