Texas Trust Credit Union has given $100,000 in support of The University of Texas at Arlington"s Career Development Center, a 6,000 square-foot facility that will serve as a resource connecting students and alumni with professional opportunities.
The gift was presented to UTA President Vistasp M. Karbhari; Tim Quinnan, vice president for student affairs; and Michael Kingan, vice president for development and alumni relations.
"UTA continues to produce the highest caliber graduates who contribute to a vibrant regional economy," said Jim Minge, Texas Trust Credit Union CEO. "As a local employer we have a natural interest in helping these students succeed. We hope this gift will allow UTA to further enhance its career development services."
In recognition of the gift, UTA will name the Career Development Center"s interview suite the "Texas Trust Credit Union Interview Suite." The suite is the central waiting area within the Center and is surrounded by eight interview rooms.
President Karbhari commended Texas Trust Credit Union for its support of UTA and efforts to increase economic vitality in the communities it serves.
"We greatly value our partnership with Texas Trust and appreciate the commitment made to the Career Development Center. This emphasizes the tremendous value of such partnerships that ensure that, together, the corporate community and UTA can help our students navigate a swiftly evolving, technologically advanced and global environment," Karbhari said. "Texas Trust"s gift is an investment not only in the future of our students but in our larger community."
