PSECU Awards $48,000 in Scholarships

Harrisburg, PA PSECU recently awarded $48,000 in college scholarships to six graduating high school seniors. 2016 marked the 20th year for PSECU"s high school scholarship program. The program recognizes the winners for their academic achievement, extracurricular involvement, and critical thinking and writing skills. Each of the six scholarships holds a total value of $8,000 ($2,000 per academic year that is renewable for up to four years of undergraduate study).
The PSECU scholarship program has been in place since 1997, and the credit union has disbursed more than $500,000 to help fund members" college educations since the program"s inception.
From the over 550 applications, the following winners were selected: Ambrose Bechtel of Knoxville, TN who will attend the University of Alabama; Abigail Gurgiolo of Camp Hill, PA who will attend Bowdoin College; Sara Klena of Catawissa, PA who will attend the United States Military Academy; Veronica Ponti of Harrisburg, PA who will attend Shippensburg University; Mahita Varanasi of Mechanicsburg, PA who will attend Johns Hopkins University; and Alexander Weck of Downingtown, PA who will attend Duke University.
