MassMutual Federal Credit Union Awards $12,000 in Scholarships

CaptureMassMutual Federal Credit Union, headquartered in Springfield, Mass., presented six students with scholarships at a special reception before the credit union's monthly board meeting on June 28. Each year, MassMutual FCU (MMFCU) selects six well-deserving students to receive a $2,000 scholarship to help with college expenses. This year's recipients are a group of young adults who have proven themselves in the classroom, on the athletic fields and in various activities/clubs. Jake Jackowski of Longmeadow High School is one of the Pioneer Valley Chapter's 2016 Scholarship recipients. He will be attending Columbia University and Science Po. His first two years will be at Science Po in Reims, France. His second two years will be at Columbia in New York. He will be getting a BA from each university with a concentration in international relations and economics. Christopher Garbasz of Minnechaug Regional High School will be attending the University of Notre Dame in the fall, majoring in finance. Hannah Kresock of Agawam High School will be attending Boston College in the fall and will major in biochemistry. Priya Mehta of Suffield High School will be attending Georgia Tech in the fall. Her plans are to major in computer engineering and science. Alexander Perkins of Longmeadow High School will be attending Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in the fall, majoring in materials engineering. Zachary Wahrman of Longmeadow High School will be attending the University of Connecticut in the fall and will major in computer science. "We are proud to award our annual scholarships to these deserving students," said David Plantier, president/CEO of MMFCU. "It is through their fervent dedication to their studies, their school and their community that they have already achieved much. We are excited to see what the future holds for them. On behalf of the board of directors and staff at MMFCU, I would like to extend my congratulations to all of our 2016 Scholarship Award recipients and all the best for a successful future."
