FORUM Credit Union Hosts Summer Reception

2016 FORUM Foundation Reception RecipientsIndianapolis, Indiana, June 24, 2016- FORUM Credit Union recently held its second annual Foundation Summer Reception at the FORUM Conference Center in Fishers to honor the Foundation"s current and previous educator grant and collegiate scholarship recipients. Fifteen teachers from central Indiana received grants and seven high school seniors received scholarships. In addition, seven students from the first year of scholarships were recognized and awarded an additional $5,000. The following teachers received educator grants to be used in their classrooms: Vicki Ayres-Benson, North Central High School, Kelsey Buckley, Zionsville Middle School, Bill Buckman, Carmel Clay Middle School, Josh Cecil, Noblesville High School, Ashley Connor, Sunnyside Elementary, Marinda Grove, Abraham Lincoln Elementary, Maureen Hoffman-Wehmeier, Greenwood Middle School, Colleen Ireland, Geist Elementary, Adam Jahn, Fall Creek Intermediate School, Kim King, Center Grove Elementary, Jeremy Large, New Palestine High School, Christine Miller, Shamrock Springs Elementary, Barbra Nichols, New Augusta North Public Academy, Alexandra Tubbs, Thompson Crossing Elementary, Kim Ward, IPS Super School #19. The following students received $5,000 collegiate scholarships, renewable for up to four years and $20,000: Aundrea Coleman, Mount Vernon High School, Jacob Danek, Cardinal Ritter High School/Homeschool, David Grandy, North Central High School, Brogan Hagemeier, Perry Meridian High School, Ethan Hicks, Brownsburg High School, Grace Rootes, Noblesville High School, Lily Wood, Lutheran High School. The FORUM Credit Union Foundation is dedicated to strengthening the communities FORUM serves by enhancing educational opportunities through educator grants and collegiate scholarships. The Foundation awards up to seven $5,000 collegiate scholarships and designates $25,000 annually in educator grants. The educator grants are available to teachers who are FORUM members or who work for a school district that partners with FORUM and the collegiate scholarships are eligible to FORUM members. The educator grant application for the 2016-2017 academic year is currently open to teachers through September 1, 2016. Grant recipients will be announced October 1, 2016. The application for collegiate scholarships will be available October 1, 2016 with recipients being announced in the spring of 2017.
