Black Hills Federal Credit Union Making SD Highways Cleaner
June 24, 2016
Rapid City, S.D. (06/14/16) Black Hills Federal Credit Union employees were busy the last few weeks helping to collect and dispose of garbage along many of South Dakota"s highways.
Employees in Rapid City, Wall and Pierre volunteered to clean up portions of South Dakota"s roadways this spring as part of the South Dakota Department of Transportation"s Adopt-A-Mile Program and the City of Pierre"s "Go Green and Clean" campaign.
"This is a great opportunity for our employees to get together and give back to the communities we serve in a very meaningful way," said Patty Mogensen, chair of the Community Action Team Project. "In just a few hours we"re able to keep our communities looking great."
Employees also participated in, and raised more than $850 for the American Cancer Society"s Relay for Life in Pennington County and $775 for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society"s MS Walk this month.
BHFCU"s employee-led Community Action Team provides support for community projects, charities and events throughout the year through various fundraising and volunteer efforts.
