Despite record temperatures, hundreds of vehicle shoppers filed through Black Hills Federal Credit Union"s Downtown Member Service Center parking lot during the credit union"s 27th annual member auto sale on Saturday, June 11. The sale is an opportunity for BHFCU members to sell their vehicles, motorcycles, and RVs at a fee-free, credit union-sponsored and promoted event, said Jessica Schmahl, co-chair of BHFCU"s member auto sale committee. "The sale is a great time for members and the community to come together for some food, fun and great used-vehicles," Schmahl said. "With more than 83 vehicles this year, there was a little something for everyone to check out." Vehicles for sale this year included a 1990 Chevrolet Corvette, a 2015 Ford F150 and a 1996 Harley Davidson Soft Tail Custom Motorcycle, to name a few, Schmahl said. In total, members sold 14 vehicles on the day of the sale. "Every year the event seems to get just a little bigger, and it"s exciting to watch," Schmahl said. "You never know what"s going end up at the auto sale from year to year." In addition, BHFCU"s Community Action Team was able to raise $500 for the Black Hills Children"s Home Society through concession stand proceeds and employee funds during the Sale.
