Kenai, Alaska �Alaska USA Foundation has donated $5,000 to The Great Alaska Council in support of Boy Scouts of America. The money will provide Scouts from the Tustumena District area the opportunity to attend Scout day camps.
"Some of our Scouts live in areas that don"t allow for access to Boy Scout day camps, or they don"t have the means to attend the camps near them," said Kevin Barnett, Tustumena District Chair, Great Alaska Council. "The Alaska USA Foundation"s donation will greatly impact the lives of Scouts that would otherwise miss out on this opportunity for fun and learning."
The Great Alaska Council is an accredited charter of the National Boy Scouts of America organization. They serve over 8,900 youth members and over have 2,600 adult volunteers in communities throughout Alaska. The Tustumena District is�comprised of the Kenai Peninsula, Kodiak and Cordova.
