East River FCU Fights Back Against Cancer
June 15, 2016
Madison, SD - East River FCU staff have been doing their part to fight back against cancer through fundraising efforts held this year. Some of the fundraising activities included a bake sale, raffle, and Loans for Hope campaign. For each loan taken out in May, a donation was made to the American Cancer Society (ACS). Additionally, staff donated their casual dress day funds to ACS and members were given the opportunity to make a donation when they stopped by our lobby. A "Tree of Hope" was displayed in the lobby. As money was raised, leaves were added to the tree.
"We exceeded our fundraising goal this year and filled the tree", states Penni Groce, Special Work and Activities Team (SWAT) member. "Our staff had a lot of creative ideas for fundraising and we are thankful for all of our members and our community for their contributions."
Over $1500 was raised for this year"s Relay for Life event in June. East River FCU staff will continue to hold fundraisers for next year"s event.
