Westerly Community Credit Union Awards $4,000 in Scholarships

Rhode Island - Westerly Community Credit Union recently awarded (4) $1000 scholarships to local students of Chariho, Stonington, and Westerly High Schools.
Joseph Brodeur of Westerly was awarded the Westerly Community Credit Union- Joseph N. Cugini Scholarship. The Joseph N. Cugini Scholarship is named on behalf of the Credit Union's former president, CEO and Chairman of the Board, Joseph Cugini. Cugini retired in 2000 after 41 years of service to the Credit Union. Brodeur is a graduate of Westerly High School and will be attending Providence College in the fall to study Philosophy and Theology.
John Moody of Mystic, was awarded the Westerly Community Credit Union- Robert M. Bewlay Memorial Scholarship. The Robert M. Bewlay Memorial Scholarship is named in honor of the Credit Union's former Vice President, Robert M. Bewlay, for his 35 years of dedication and service to the Westerly Community Credit Union. Moody is a graduate of Stonington High School and will be attending University of North Carolina in the fall to study Finance.
Kalee Bettez of Ashaway was awarded the Westerly Community Credit Union Vocational Scholarship. The Westerly Community Credit Union Vocational Scholarship is awarded to a graduating High School Senior who will be attending a Vocation Credentialed Program upon graduation. Kalee is a graduate of Chariho High School and will be studying Nursing at New England Tech in the fall.
Michael Henson of Westerly, was awarded the Westerly Community Credit Union College Scholarship. This scholarship was added to the Westerly Community Credit Union scholarship program last year. Michael is a graduate of the Westerly High School and will be attending the University of Rhode Island in the fall to study Accounting and Finance.
Isaac Kaufman of Westerly, was awarded the Cooperative Credit Union Scholarship. This scholarship is sponsored by the Westerly Community Credit Union which is one of eleven participating credit unions in Rhode Island. Isaac is a graduate of the Westerly High School and will be attending Georgia Tech in the fall to study Computer Engineering and IT Systems Management.
