Sioux Falls, June 1, 2016: �Alyssa Williams, Sioux Falls, and Micayla TerWee, Larchwood, were each recently awarded the $1,000 Community Service Scholarships from Sioux Falls Federal Credit Union. Both will use the funds to help finance their post-high school education this fall.
The two winners, who were selected from approximately 20 applicants, had outstanding records of service to their community. �"These two young adults are perfect examples of the impact one person can have on improving the lives of others" said Fran Sommerfeld, President/CEO of Sioux Falls Federal Credit Union. "We are extremely proud of both their academic and community service accomplishments and proud to call them member-owners of this cooperative". Helping People Live Better," said Sommerfeld.
Williams and TerWee will attend South Dakota State University this fall.
Sioux Falls Federal Credit Union was chartered in 1934 and currently serves anyone who lives or works in Minnehaha, Lincoln, McCook and Turner counties of South Dakota. The not-for-profit cooperative has over 27,000 members with six Sioux Falls locations.
