Westerly Community Credit Union is proud to announce the launch of their new WCCU Teacher Grant Program. This program will award $5,000 in grants, in values up to $500, for the 2016/17 school year. WCCU Teacher Grants are available to local Teachers, Administrators, or Staff from the following school districts: Chariho, Narragansett, Stonington, and Westerly.
WCCU will be awarding their grants annually to support creative and experiential educational projects or programs in the areas school districts. Special consideration will be given to innovative projects that strengthen the relationship between our schools and the community at large, and to projects that support student excellence.
All applications will be judged on the following criteria: Educational Focus, Promotion of Skills/Excellence, Creativity/Innovation, Community Connection, and Goal Clarity/Attainability. Grant applications must be submitted no later than October 31, 2016. Awarded monies will be distributed by November 30, 2016.
We appreciate the support given by local Teachers, Administration, and Staff in helping WCCU with our goal of teaching financial literacy to our areas youth� stated Steve White, WCCU President and CEO.
We felt this was a way to thank them and show them our support for their innovative ideas to help children succeed.
