Pelican State Credit Union Awards $6,000 in Scholarships

BATON ROUGE, LOUISIANA Pelican State Credit Union granted a $500 scholarship award to 12 college-bound Pelican members in its branch communities across the state of Louisiana.
"Pelican is passionate about serving and helping its communities, and our Team Pelican scholarship award program supports those high school members who share that passion," explained Pelican CEO Jeffrey K. Conrad.
A volunteer committee made up of Pelican employees scored the scholarship applications based on academic achievement, extracurricular activities, leadership, community service and letters of recommendation.
The recipients stood out among their peers as active leaders in their schools and communities. "We enjoy giving back to our youth members, and we look forward to hearing many great things about these young leaders in the future," Conrad added.
