CaptureBISMARCK, ND (May 19, 2016) On Tuesday, May 17, Capital Credit Union hosted two home buying events to help people in the community learn about the home buying process. The events were held at the credit unions Main Office in Bismarck and attracted members and people in the community who are ready to become homeowners. As many as six attendees expressed their readiness to purchase a home in the near future. The hour-long events featured a presentation given by Capital Credit Unions home loan experts. They provided home buyers with information about financing options, applications and preapproval, affordability of monthly payments, underwriting, and down payment and closing costs. "Many people view the home buying process as intimidating, and that feeling is something we can help alleviate by educating them about the process in a relaxed atmosphere," said Scott Bullinger, home loan expert. Capital Credit Union aims to host educational events for its members and people in the community regularly, posting the opportunities on its website, social media sites and other communication channels. "Providing financial education is one of our top priorities because it helps ensure consumers are confident when they make financial decisions," shared Debra Gallagher, president and CEO. "Capital Credit Union is proud to be a reliable resource for our members and people in the community when they need financial guidance. By hosting events like this home buying one, it gives us the opportunity to proactively reach out to them and give them information they both want and need."
