UW Credit Union Offers New Terms for Student Loan Refinance
Madison, WI May 26, 2016 UW Credit Union introduced new 5- and 10-year terms for consumers who would like to refinance their student loans. The new, shorter terms are due to member feedback and part of the credit unions ongoing efforts to help members repay their student loans in the timeframe that fits their needs.
"Members who refinance with us frequently choose to make more than the minimum monthly payments to pay back their student loans faster, and now we're making it even easier and more affordable," said Sherry Peplinski, Educational Lending Product Manager at UW Credit Union. "Offering the shorter 5- and 10-year terms at reasonable rates helps members achieve their repayment goals and save money."
Consumers can consolidate up to $60,000 in private and federal student loans into one monthly payment at a low fixed or variable interest rate for a 5-, 10- or 15-year term. UW Credit Union's new online application features a responsive design for mobile devices and a simplified process for both borrowers and cosigners. There are no fees to apply to refinance student loans with the credit union, and there is no pre-payment penalty.
