ALEXANDRIA, LOUISIANA It always pays to have a Pelican State Credit Union branch in your community! The credit union gave away 792 free sno-cones at the Sno-Shack on S. MacArthur Drive from 2:30 5 pm on Wednesday, May 18, 2016. This is the third year the credit union has given away free sno-cones to the Alexandria community.
The drive-thru Sno-Shack is locally owned and operated by Doug and Tami Oliver. It is located at 2960 S. MacArthur Drive across from Academy and Hana Japanese Steakhouse.
Pelican representatives were there greeting and entertaining guests while they waited for their sno-cones. Every single person in each vehicle received a ticket for a free sno-cone served in a Pelican cup. Guests were able to choose the flavor of their sno-cone and were even able to add condensed milk on top for free!
"We always have such a great time at these events," said Christy Pentz, Branch Manager at Pelican State Credit Unions Pineville location. "We love having fun and giving back to our community and the Sno-Shack Takeover is the perfect way for everyone to start the summer."
Like all free Pelican events, there was absolutely no catch! Credit union membership was not needed to get a free sno-cone and no purchase was required. Pelican only asked that each person claim their one, free sno-cone in person.
This is one of the many ways that Pelican gives back to its Rapides Parish. The credit union gave away 671 free sno-cones during last years Sno-Shack Takeover. Pelicans Pineville branch celebrated its grand opening last January and has given away thousands of dollars in cash and prizes to Pineville and Alexandria residents since opening!
Pelicans Alexandria branch is located at 4520 Lee Street and its Pineville branch is located at 3628 Monroe Highway. All Rapides Parish residents are eligible to join Pelican. Pelican members can benefit from free one-on-one credit counseling, a variety of convenient products and services and several opportunities to win cash and prizes throughout the year.
