Honolulu Federal Credit Union Hosting Free Shred Event

CaptureHONOLULU, HI (May 19, 2016) Honolulu Federal Credit Union, now branded as HOCU, opened its newly built main branch in Moilili featuring " teller pods" which are stations designed for more personalized transactions that have become popular on the mainland. HOCU is the first financial institution on Oahu to implement the teller pods, which removes barriers between customers and tellers and provides a more open friendly feel. "We have been serving Hawaiis community for 80 years, and we are continually seeking ways to improve our services and offerings to benefit our members," said Mark Munemitsu, HOCU president and CEO. "We are pleased to present this newly built branch and offer the pods as a way to improve customer service." The new main branch has a modern look and feel with high ceilings, large windows for natural lighting, more greenery and more spacious areas for customer service and support. The general contractor Ralph S, Inouye Co., Ltd. recently received an award of Merit from the General Contractors Association for the project. HOCU also unveiled its new logo a bright golden Ilima flower with their new tagline, "for a brighter future," that is clearly visible from the street. HOCU also announced and is already offering its new free checking rewards program called Kasasa that rewards members in cash. Kasasa Cash� allows members to earn up to 2.50% APY* and refunds ATM fees nationwide.* There is no minimum balance to earn rewards and no monthly service fees, and members also receive access to free online banking, e-statements, and a debit card. HOCU plans to highlight the new Kasasa checking account beginning this June with a "Shred-it" event at the main branch on Saturday, June 4, 9 a.m. Noon offering free hotdogs and chips, and music while people wait to take advantage of the free shredding of their financially sensitive documents.
