Connex Credit Unions North Haven branch during the first quarter of 2016 have helped make a significant impact for one local community group. �As a part of its philanthropic program
ConnexCares, Connex Credit Union recently donated nearly $700, from the fees collected by Connexs coin-cashing machine at their North Haven branch, to
VetFuel. The Coins-for-Change program charges a five percent fee to members, a seven percent fee to non-members and donates the fees collected to charitable organizations in the local community, contributing more than $10,000 annually.
"Big thanks to Connex for supporting Veterans and their caretakers," said Andrew Messore, founder, VetFuel. "These contributions will serve as an essential link to Veteran wellness."
VetFuel is a Connecticut based, fuel positive organization, created to connect Veterans to healthcare, employment, and housing. The idea for VetFuel began in 2011 when Andrew Messore, an established grant writer and Connecticut based Veteran advocate, saw a great and unfulfilled need for Connecticut's Veterans.
