Heritage Federal Credit Union Donates $50,000 to Community Foundation Alliance

NEWBURGH, IN (May 13, 2016) To celebrate their 50th anniversary as a community partner and their commitment to the Southwestern Indiana region they serve, Heritage Federal Credit Union awarded 3 Southwestern Indiana County Community Foundations a combined total of $50,000 in funding, a gift made possible in part through matching funds by the Lilly Endowment "Giving Indiana Funds for Tomorrow" (GIFT) initiative and the Vanderburgh Community Foundation.
A check presentation was�held Thursday, April 28, at 4 p.m. (CST) in the Local 104 Community Room located at the recently completed Heritage Federal Credit Union Headquarters at 8266 Bell Oaks Drive in Newburgh, Indiana. The Posey County Community Foundation, Vanderburgh County Community Foundation, and Warrick County Community Foundation, partners of the Community Foundation Alliance (CFA), will share the $50,000 to improve quality of life in their communities. At the presentation ceremony, members of the CFA Board of Directors, Alliance Executive Director Jill Carpenter, as well as the directors from each of the 3 recipient county Foundations (Monica Spencer, Posey; Scott Wylie, Vanderburgh; and Susan Sublett, Warrick) were present to accept the gift from Ruth Jenkins, CCE, CUERME, President and CEO of Heritage Federal Credit Union. "Heritage Federal Credit Union was founded on the philosophy of "People Helping People" and we are very focused on supporting the communities we serve," stated Ruth Jenkins, CCE, CUERME, President and CEO of Heritage Federal Credit Union.� "We are very excited that through this GIFT initiative, we are able to help the local Indiana communities we serve to develop the philanthropic capacity to address their own needs and challenges which will in turn benefit the lives of those who live in these communities."
