Peach State FCU Awarding New Scholarships to Local Students

CaptureMONROE, GA (May 13, 2016) Peach State FCU has created two new scholarships for Walton County students. One scholarship has been created to honor retiring Walton County Schools Superintendent, Gary Hobbs, for his lifelong commitment to education and community service.� He is also the past Chairman of the Board for the Walton County Chamber of Commerce. The $2,500 scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior from Walton County. A second scholarship was created to honor the service of Wilma Widmer, the Chief Human Resources Officer for the Walton County Board of Education, and a former Peach State Supervisory Committee member. The $2,000 scholarship will be awarded to a Walton County Board of Education employee who is a Peach State member and pursuing additional education or certification. "Gary and Wilma have dedicated their careers and their time to Walton Countys success, and were proud to honor their service," said Peach State President/CEO, Marshall Boutwell. Scholarship applications will be posted on Peach States website this winter when the 2016-17 Scholarship Program officially kicks off. Winners will be announced in the spring of 2017.
