Georgia United Credit Union Celebrating Student Run Branch at Local High School

McDonough, GA (May 12, 2016) - Georgia United Credit Union invites the community to attend an Open House of their newest branch location at 401 E. Tomlinson Street in McDonough. Join us on Wednesday, June 1, from 10:00 am until 12:00 noon for refreshments and giveaways. A ribbon-cutting ceremony with local dignitaries and elected officials will be held promptly at 11:00 am.� Georgia Uniteds McDonough Branch is a student-run, full service branch. It is housed within The Academy for Advanced Studies (AAS) located on the campus of Henry County High School. This partnership between the Academy for Advanced Studies, the Henry Country Board of Education and Georgia United is the first financial service/education partnership of its kind in Georgia.
Students who are part of the Academy for Advanced Studies (and those who have participated in, or completed, finance-related Career and Technical Education pathways) can enroll in the work-based learning program to gain real-world career experience. Students work alongside Georgia United employees, to build their knowledge, skills and professional aptitude for the financial services industry.
