Heritage Trust Federal Credit Union Donates Over $17,000 to March of Dimes
May 9, 2016

"March of Dimes is very close to my heart and I am honored to have the support of all the employees at Heritage Trust. Their continuing support along with our members, local businesses and families, are one of the reasons we are able to work for stronger, healthier babies in our community and across the state," commented James H. McDaniel Sr., Heritage Trust President/CEO. "I am truly overwhelmed by the Heritage Trust team spirit and generosity for such a valued event."
The most urgent infant health problem in the U.S. today is premature birth. It affects more than half a million babies each year, with the number growing every day. Babies born too soon are more likely to die or have disabilities. The March of Dimes is committed to reducing this toll by funding research to find the answers to premature birth and providing comfort and information to families who are affected. Each year, the South Carolina Chapter of the March of Dimes invests in mission initiatives statewide, including research grants and local community services. Through these program services, the March of Dimes continues working to prevent birth defects and infant death, reduce South Carolinas premature birth rate, increase access to prenatal care and educate men and women about having healthy babies.*
Heritage Trust employees celebrated their fundraising success along with thousands of community members at the March for Babies walk held on Saturday, April 30th at Cannon Park in Downtown Charleston.
