Pelican State Credit Union Sponsors Community Spring Festival
May 5, 2016
DENHAM SPRINGS, LOUISIANA It always pays to have a Pelican State Credit Union branch in your community! Festivalgoers took home 152 prizes and $1,495 in cash at the Denham Springs Antique Village Spring Festival on Saturday, April 30, 2016. Pelican set up shop early and had 272 winners in only three hours!
This was Pelicans third year sponsoring and presenting the Spring Festival alongside the Denham Springs Antique Village Merchants Association. The credit union enjoys supporting one of Livingston Parishs largest community events.
Every festival attendee 15 years old and older was able to take a turn at picking a cup(s) on the Pelican Punch board and punch through the paper to see what prize they won! Prizes ranged from tumblers and T-shirts to $100 bills! Pelican members received two punches each, and other festivalgoers were each given one punch.
"Rain or shine, we love giving back to our branch communities," said Pelican CFO Melissa Ott.
Award-winning balloon engineer Stephanie Morace from Balloonatics was at Pelicans tent providing balloon animals and characters free of charge to children at the festival. After punching to win prizes, attendees would gather to watch Stephanie create balloon art and joke around with the crowd.
The credit union is actively involved with its Denham Springs community and regularly gives back to its members. Pelican gave away thousands of dollars in cash and prizes to its members last year and hosts an annual FREE Kids Bike Race before school starts. The event is open to the public and is a completely free event that includes face painting, games and refreshments. More information on Pelicans 13th annual bike race is coming soon.
Pelican members can benefit from free one-on-one credit counseling, a variety of convenient products and services and several opportunities to win cash and prizes throughout the year. For information about becoming a Pelican member, please call Denham Springs Asst. Branch Manager Christian M. Gordon at (225) 408-6228.
