Hanscom AFB, Mass. (May 3, 2016) Hanscom FCU has contributed 3,255 books to the Cooperative Credit Union Associations annual childrens book drive. The books are distributed by the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless to kids in shelters, hospitals and other non-profits throughout Massachusetts. This is the 16th consecutive year Hanscom FCU has participated as a major contributor. As in past years, the Hanscom Air Force Base thrift shop contributed books donated by patrons. "These kids are in a tough spot," noted Paul Marotta, Hanscom FCU Chairman of the Board. "Many of them have no books of their own, or have had to leave them behind. Our staff and members are well aware of the impact the book drive has. Its a gift that can last a lifetime." Hanscom Federal Credit Union, headquartered at Hanscom Air Force Base, Mass., serves 65,733 members across the country and overseas through 17 branches, over 100,000 service centers and surcharge-free ATMs, 24-hour telephone service and a web-based branch.
