Advancial Federal Credit Union Helps Find Homes for Animals
May 3, 2016
Love was in the air during a dog adoption event hosted by Advancial Federal Credit Union at its Lafayette, La. branch.
The $1.1 billion credit union headquartered in Dallas, partnered with multiple area rescue organizationsincluding Acadiana Animal Aid, Animal Rescue Foundation of Louisiana (ARF-LA) and Friends of Lafayette Animal Shelter. Camp Bow Wow participated in the days festivities as well, offering training tips to new pet parents, and showcasing some of their best students. The Cacklin Hens food truck was at the branch all day, serving up home style Cajun food for breakfast and lunch. Despite the grey skies and low temperatures, the day was a success, and many of the dogs in attendance found forever homes.
"At Advancial, were committed to our communities, our members and our pets, so this event was a natural extension of that commitment," Deborah Griesbach, chief marketing officer at Advancial said. "We were thrilled to be able to work with Lafayette shelters and find forever homes for these dogs."
A pup named Sweet Pea was the first to be adopted by Miss Lily, an elderly Lafayette resident who came hoping to find a small companion dog. Sweet Pea spent the morning cuddled in Lilys jacket, snuggling with her new friend and staying warm from the wind. A young family with an 8 month-old daughter adopted a Shepard-mix puppy; baby and puppy seemed to be instantly in love and ready to play.
Nancy Marcantel of ARF said afterward, "We made some good contacts, the dogs had fun and we tired them out. Win-win! We appreciate Advancials community-minded spirit, and their dedication to the homeless pets in our area. I look forward to the next event!"
