Day Air Credit Union Awards $2,000 in Scholarships

KETTERING, OH (April 25, 2016) As students are winding down the academic year, Day Air Credit Union is announcing that the two recipients of our $1,000 academic scholarships are Ian Cali from the University of Dayton and Emma Flanagan from Oakwood High School.
Day Air Credit Unions scholarship is based on academic achievement, extracurricular activities, community service involvement and an essay on financial literacy.
"Our mission is to improve our members financial well-being and in doing so we believe it is important to recognize student members who are high achievers both in the classroom and the community" says William Burke, President & CEO. "The two chosen to receive scholarship awards stood out among their peers as future leaders of our communities. We look forward to helping these members reach their educational goals."
Day Air Credit Union has a long-standing history of service to local communities and the scholarship awards will support those students who exhibit the same commitment.
Ian Cali is a junior at the University of Dayton where he is�earning his degree in Business Administration. During his�time at UD he has been active in the Honors Program,�served as a Student Ambassador welcoming incoming students to campus, is a Chaminade Scholar and has been Service Chair for Epsilon Tau Pi. He also has served as a Resident Assistant for the past three years as well as holding down other employment positions. Ian will graduate in May, 2017 with his Bachelors of Science in Business Administration.
Emma Flanagan is currently a senior at Oakwood High School. In high school Emma has been active in many volunteer opportunities such as House of Bread, Oakwood Athletic Boosters, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and the Celtic Festival just to name a few. In addition, Emma has excelled academically, she has been an active member of the National Honor Society and remained on the yearly High Honor Roll during her time in high school. In the fall Emma will be attending The Catholic University of America where she will be studying Marketing.
