Bannockburn (IL) On Friday, April 15
th Linda Hall of Maywood, Illinois, was presented with a $5,000 vacation package courtesy of Great Lakes Credit Union (GLCU). Hall, a member of GLCU, was randomly selected as the lucky winner in a drawing held on April 5
th after the conclusion of the credit unions Swipe Away, Fly Away contest.
Hall won a $3,500 travel certificate, which gives her opportunity to travel to a destination of her dreams. GLCU also gave her an additional $1,500 to spend on travel incidentals. "I couldnt believe I won when Great Lakes Credit Union called me!" Hall says. "I plan on taking my grandson to visit his grandfather in Barbados."
The contest ran between January 1 and March 31, 2016. Entrants needed to swipe their debit card 100 or more times during the promotional period and select "credit" when making purchases to be automatically entered into the drawing.
"We love to offer contests like this one to our members and the community at large. They raise awareness of credit unions like ours and benefit our members in profound ways," says Vikki Kaiser President/CEO.
Now that the Swipe Away, Fly Away contest is concluded, GLCU is launching a monthly Credit with Debit contest to keep the momentum going. If members use their GLCU debit cards 25 times or more in a month as a "credit transaction" they will be automatically entered in a random monthly drawing to win $100 Visa gift card. At the end of December the names of all those who used their debit card 300 times or more as a "credit transaction" between April 1 and December 31, 2016, will be entered in the random annual drawing to win the $1,000 Visa gift card Grand Prize.
