By using their Michigan Community Credit Union credit or debit card, members have the opportunity to activate the available perks at local merchants and national participants. When a user is physically near a participating business, a notification will appear on their smartphone, informing them of the perk that is nearby. "Our new app promotes local business use, as well as rewards our members for using our products at the same time. The app allows you to customize which notification you would like to receive," said Tina Hamilton, CEO Michigan Community Credit Union.
The Credit Unions mobile app, "miLocal Perks," is now available in the Apple and Android app stores by searching "miLocalPerks."
