Black Hills FCU Supports Feeding South Dakota
April 18, 2016
Rapid City, SD - This winter, Black Hills Federal Credit Union donated $5,000 to Feeding South Dakota to benefit the recently expanded Charles H. Burke Memorial Distribution Center in Pierre. The new facility is making it easier for Feeding South Dakota, a statewide food assistance program, to reach more families throughout Central South Dakota.
"Feeding South Dakota distributes millions of pounds of food every year through their food assistance and BackPack programs," said Carol Brown, vice president of marketing and business development at BHFCU. "These programs are impacting the lives of thousands of people, and BHFCU is proud to support Feeding South Dakotas efforts to fight hunger in South Dakota."
Black Hills Federal Credit Union is a proud supporter of Feeding South Dakota. Employees hold regular food drives for the nonprofit, volunteer for the organizations BackPack program and participate in fundraising events like the first ever Canstruction Rapid City contest this February.
Feeding South Dakota began operating in Pierre in May 2010. The center distributes to 26 counties in Central South Dakota. Black Hills Federal Credit Union serves more than 62,000 at 13 Member Service Centers in western and central South Dakota.
