Annual Meeting Scholarship Winners 2016FALL RIVER, MASSACHUSETTS, March 22, 2016 - St. Anne's Credit Union of Fall River held its 80th Annual Meeting on March 20th at Whites of Westport. Board Chairman William R. Bouchard reported favorable numbers in several areas for 2015.� The Credit Union closed $132.2 million in residential mortgage and equity loans.� The grand total of loans for 2015 was $221.1 million, and the Credit Union also had an increase of deposits to $725.9 million.� St. Annes serves over 57,000 members, and remains one the largest financial institutions headquartered in Fall River. He also went on to speak of former President/CEO Ross R. Uptons retirement, and his successor, St. Annes President/CEO Eileen M. Danahey. President/CEO Danahey reviewed the highlights of the past year, recognizing director (and former Chairman) Albert E. Merciers 50th year of volunteer service to the Credit Union and 2015 Volunteer of the Year Judy Mazza. She commended Ross R. Upton and Arthur Miranda, who retired from the Board in 2015 after 37 years of service. She also went on to mention the pride in our community support, which included a $20,000 donation to the Fall River Childrens Museum, $30,000 to the Stoico/FirstFed YMCA in Swansea, and the $50,000 donation to the BCC Foundation for their new John J. Sbrega Health and Science Building. Ms. Danahey spoke of the volunteerism of St. Annes employees who donated over $11,000 during the course of the year to local organizations and charities, and over half of whom donated their time at events throughout the year.� She also mentioned the various accolades that St. Annes Credit Union received in 2015 Banker & Tradesman Best Credit Union in MA, Banker & Tradesman #1 Mortgage Lender in Bristol County, Herald News Readers Choice Winner in the Credit Union category, and the Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Award for our Warm Hands Warm Hearts initiative.� Looking ahead at 2016, construction will continue on the relocation of our branch location in Dartmouth and St. Annes will continue working to better serve members with new products and services. Director Elections Board members Atty. Colleen Brady, Bruce E. Fernandes, John R. Ledwidge and Albert E. Mercier were all re-elected to their Board positions. Scholarship Winners 24th Year Now in its 24th year, St. Annes Credit Unions scholarship program has awarded nearly $300,000 to local students, including grade school students at Fall Rivers St. Stanislaus and Holy Names Schools, as well as local graduating high school seniors. Among those attending the Annual Meeting were the high school seniors who won St. Annes Credit Unions 2016 Scholarship (shown below): The recipients of the $1,000 awards were: Madison Mary Zenni, B.M.C. Durfee High School; Rebecca Farias, Bishop Connolly High School; Katherine Vasconcelos, Bishop Stang High School; Noah Miranda, Bristol County Agricultural High School; Patrick Kitchen, Dartmouth High School; Fallon Boragine, Diman VT High School; Kayla Koczera, Fairhaven High School; Aidan Fitzsimons, Joseph Case High School; Paige Richmond, New Bedford High School; Michaelah Noelle Nunes, Old Rochester Regional High School; Cassie Graca, Somerset-Berkley High School, and Casandra Abgrab, Westport High School.
