Fitzimons Credit Union Supports Comitis Crisis Center
March 28, 2016
DENVER, CO (March 24, 2016) Recently, the team at Fitzsimons Credit Union participated in an annual event to help raise money and food donations for the Comitis Crisis Center in Aurora, CO. A team of pink "piglets" raced through local grocery store in a competition to help feed the hungry.
Twenty-five teams raised money, got creative with costumes and then used the donations to "shop" for items identified by the Center as things they would need to stock their shelves. Comitis Crisis Center serves the homeless in Aurora and sees over 2,400 people each year. The food donations make it possible to provide meals to those who need it most.
"The grocery cart race is a fun and unique way of engaging event partners in this worthy cause," said Polina Yakusheva, Vice President of Marketing and Business Development at Fitzsimons Credit Union. "We are proud to help and support an organization making a difference right here in our community."
The event garnered $42,000 in donations for the Center.
