FSU Credit Union Donates over $100,000 to Local Community in 2015
Tallahassee, FL Putting the "people helping people" credit union philosophy into action, Florida State University Credit Union (FSUCU) proudly continued its 60+ year commitment to the communities they serve by donating over $100,000 in 2015. Donations included monetary support to local school and charities, the FSU Foundation and the scholarship fund at Florida State University.
Through direct financial support or other in-kind contributions to worthwhile local organizations, and by participating in public service activities, FSUCU strives to be an active partner in our community. "We have a strong commitment to serving our members and the communities where they live," commented Harmony Nagy, FSUCU Marketing Director. "We spend countless hours volunteering time teaching financial education and are pleased to add financial support when beneficial."
As a way of giving back to the communities we serve, we designed and implemented an auto loan campaign where $10 per loan is donated to local nonprofit organizations. We call the campaign "Borrow 4 Less Give Back More" and in 2015 we donated a total of $40,710 to eight charitable beneficiaries through the program. In addition, a portion of FSUCU loan proceeds are used to fund an endowed scholarship at Florida State University. $35,000 was given during the 2015 calendar year to this worthy cause.
Our annual skip-a-pay loan campaign runs every November and December with 100% of money raised donated to a local charity. The 2015 campaign resulted in a large donation of $10,370 to Kidz1stFund. Through a combination of in-kind support through our community website TallyConnection.com and approximately $15,000 in monetary support, an additional 60+ non-profits were assisted by FSUCU in 2015.
