The Westerly Community Credit Union showed support for local athletes, sports programs and schools as they donated 100% of the proceeds from the
32nd Annual Holiday Basketball Tournament to Chariho, Stonington, South Kingstown and Westerly High School Sports Boosters. Each school received a check for
$2,641.85 for their basketball teams hard work, determination and participation in the tournament.
The 2015 tournament, which was held Dec. 26
th, 28
th, 29
th & 30
th raised a total of
$10,567.41! The Westerly Community Credit Union is the sole sponsor of the tournament allowing 100% of the gate receipts to be divided between the Sports Boosters of the participating schools.� This popular event has now raised
$204,468.71 since the 1
st tournament took place in 1984.
