Black Hills FCU Supports "Tough Enough to Wear Pink" Fundraiser
February 18, 2016
Rapid City, S.D. Black Hills Federal Credit Union employees purchased more than $800 worth of t-shirts in support of the local, community-wide "Tough Enough to Wear Pink" fundraiser this January.
The proceeds from the shirt sales go to the Regional Health Foundation. The Foundation will use the funds to purchase advanced cancer diagnosis and treatment options for the John T. Vucurevich Regional Cancer Care Institute at Rapid City Regional Hospital.
"The Regional Cancer Care Institute is a wonderful facility and we are very lucky to have it in our area," said Dawn Erk, chair of the Community Action Team Project. "Its overwhelming to see the generosity and support our employees have for both the employees and patients of this wonderful facility."
Employees also raised over $800 for the first ever Canstruction contest in Rapid City. A team of BHFCU employees will compete against area businesses and organizations to build the best structure out of non-perishable goods in a live event on February 20, at the Rushmore Mall in Rapid City.
All non-perishable goods collected will be donated to Feeding South Dakota, a state-wide food pantry. Any money raised during the live event will benefit the Hope Center, which provides basic services to those living in poverty and/or without homes.
BHFCU employees also organized a blanket drive for the Corner Stone Rescue Mission and other area homeless shelters. You can get involved with and stay up-to-date on all of BHFCUs current CAT Projects by following us on Facebook.
