Bannockburn (IL) Great Lakes Credit Union (GLCU) takes pride in its many philanthropic initiatives to help build up the communities in which its members live. This year GLCUs Board of Directors has adopted an extraordinary plan to give back. GLCU is proud to announce it is donating $39,000 in support of 13 organizations located within the communities of their branches throughout Lake, McHenry, Cook, DuPage, and Will counties in Illinois.
The Branch Managers of each location were asked to help the Board Members choose a local charity to donate $3,000 on behalf of GLCU.� On January 14, 2016, Jim Fabrie, GLCU Board Chair, presented to Brendan McCormick, Executive Director of the Good Shepherd Center, a check for $3,000.� The Good Shepherd Center provides community support, education, and services for families with or without disabilities in and around Hazel Crest, Illinois.
Other organizations benefitting from this initiative include:� Open Arms Mission in Antioch, Gurnee Explorers Unit, Coalition for Healthy Communities in Zion, ASCEND in Waukegan, Fat Cat Rescue, Inc. in North Chicago, McHenry County Community Foundation in Crystal Lake, Helping Paws Animal Shelter in Woodstock, Operation Support Our Troops in Naperville, United Way of Will County in Bolingbrook, the Ronald McDonald House in Oak Lawn, Village of Willow Springs Veterans and Family Relief Fund and B.E.S.T in Round Lake Beach.
