Affinity Federal Credit Union Awarding $15,000 in Scholarships

CaptureBasking Ridge, N.J. � Affinity Federal Credit Union Foundation is pleased to announce an expansion of its annual scholarship program.� In 2016, the Foundation will award 15 scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each.� The application period begins March 1 and runs through April 30, 2016. Committed to strengthening the communities it serves, the Affinity Federal Credit Union Foundation takes pride in helping members achieve their educational goals. This years scholarships will be awarded to members based on community involvement, academic achievement, and extra-curricular activities.� Students will also be asked to submit a personal essay. The Robert L. Birkhahn Community Spirit Scholarship is dedicated to the late Affinity Executive Vice President Robert L. Birkhahn. Bob Birkhahn exemplified everything this award upholds, and it is a fitting tribute to keeping his memory alive within the Affinity community. The scholarship will be awarded to graduating high school seniors. The Richard A. Romano Rutgers Scholarship is in honor of Richard A. Romano, Sr. for his outstanding contributions and unwavering dedication throughout his many years of volunteer service on the Affinity Federal Credit Union Board of Directors and Supervisory Committee. The scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors who plan to enroll at Rutgers University, students transferring to Rutgers, and continuing Rutgers undergraduate students The Affinity Continuing Education Scholarship is for students who are continuing their degree at a two or four year college or university. Affinity recognizes the financial challenges that come with completing a degree and is proud to help students reach their academic goals.
