Service Credit Union Offering Tax Assistance for Military Service Members

download (1)PORTSMOUTH Service Credit Union is partnering with Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) to provide free tax preparation for military service members and their families during the tax season. The VITA program,� which is part of the Rockingham CA$H Coalition, �consists of experienced IRS Certified Volunteer Tax Preparers that help people file state and federal tax returns. This is the second year Service Credit Union will be hosting the tax assistance program and its volunteers at the Pease Tradeport Branch at 14 Manchester Square, Suite 190 in Newington, N.H. The majority of appointments will be held during Military Saves Week February 22nd through February 27th. People may also call 2-1-1 or visit NHTaxHelp.org to find a local site nearby. They provide free income tax return preparation and links to other resources for building the financial capability and assets of low-to-moderate income people.
