CaptureSt. Louis Comptroller Darlene Green Sponsors Free Tax Preparation Services�For Low-to-Moderate Income Earners, Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities LOUIS, Mo. St. Louis Comptroller Darlene Green, in partnership with the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA) and 1st Financial Federal Credit Union, is sponsoring free tax preparations and banking consultations, for low-to-moderate earners, senior citizens and individuals with disabilities, from 4:30 p.m. 8:30 p.m. on two days, Wed., Feb. 10 and Wed., Feb. 17. Both events will be held at the William J. Harrison Education Center, at 3140 Cass Ave. In addition to IRS-certified tax preparers being on hand to provide free tax assistance,�1st Financial representatives will offer "second chance" opportunities for opening free savings and checking accounts, and� provide consultations on other banking services. All 2015 Federal and State (includes Illinois and other states) returns will be electronically filed. Preparers will help taxpayers apply for all tax credits for which they qualify, including earned income tax credits (EITC) and "circuit breaker" tax credits for seniors and those with disabilities. Taxpayers should bring required materials with them to the preparation, including all W-2s, and 1099s; valid ID; social security cards or taxpayer identification numbers for all family members; and other materials.
