American 1 Credit Union Soup Wars Supports Local Shelter

CaptureJackson MI - American 1 Credit Union hosted the third year of Soup Wars at the American 1 Event Center at the Jackson County Fairgrounds on January 3rd , 2016. The events purpose is to raise awareness of community hunger and proceeds were donated to the Jackson Interfaith Shelter. A variety of soups from some of the Jackson areas best restaurants were available including Reuben soup, pepper jack sausage and potato, Golumpki soup, and seafood bisque. The restaurant that claimed the title of 2016 Soup Wars Champion was Bone Island Grille with a chicken enchilada soup.� Scoring was based off of pre-event donations, event day donations, as well as scoring from the three guest judges. A total of $3,000 was raised for the Jackson Interfaith Shelter. American 1 donated an additional $200 to the Jackson Interfaith Shelter on behalf of the Soup Wars champion, Bone Island Grille. The manager of the shelter, Katie Anderson said "We are truly humbled that American 1 has chosen us to partner with and are delighted to see their passion in helping this population of our community."
