Hopewell Federal Credit Union Donates Blankets and Totes to Local Charities

HEATH / NEWARK, OH Hopewell Federal Credit Union (HFCU) shared holiday cheer with donations to the American Red Cross of East & South Central Ohio and the Food Pantry Network of Licking County.� Donations included forty-nine plush blankets and 100 mesh totes to be used by the disaster relief team at the American Red Cross and 400 grocery totes to the Food Pantry.
Each Friday, Hopewell Federal Credit Union staff members are invited to donate a dollar in exchange for the opportunity to dress in casual attire.� The funds collected throughout the year are then used to purchase items for donation.� The HFCU team was thrilled that their collective donations went toward such a worthwhile cause.

The mission of the American Red Cross is to prevent and alleviate human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors.� Each Friday all members of the Hopewell Federal staff wore red t-shirts highlighting notable statistics about this organization including:
- Every 60 seconds 250 people are assisted by the American Red Cross
- 3000,000 times a day a child receives a measles vaccination from the Red Cross and our partners
- 200 times a day Red Cross volunteers help a family affected by a house fire or disaster
- 32,000 times a day a person receives lifesaving Red Cross health, safety & preparedness training
- 380 times a day Red Cross connects Armed Forces members with their families
