Black Hills FCU Supports Habitat for Humanity

Rapid City, SD - Last month, Black Hills Federal Credit Union employees teamed up with Black Hills Habitat for Humanity on their latest housing project in Rapid City.
Employees spent the day measuring, cutting, and hanging siding on a new two-story home in North Rapid City. When it is completed, the house will be the organizations 94th in the Black Hills area and will be occupied by a local veteran and his family.
"This was an opportunity for our employees to give back to a family in need this holiday season," said Jackson Bolstad, chair of the Black Hills Habitat for Humanity CAT project. "Our employees had a great time learning how to hang siding and getting our hands a little dirty for a good cause."
BHFCUs employees also raised $500 for Girls, Inc. during their annual Cupcake Gala last month. Employees whipping up a variety of flavors and recipes for the bake-off style event, including banana cream pie and Twinkie flavored cupcakes.
Employee also raised over $725 for Operation Black Hills Cabin, which provides qualifying wounded veterans and their families with a week-long low-cost to no-cost vacation at a secluded cabin near Hot Springs, South Dakota.
BHFCUs Hot Springs Member Service Center has been busy collecting coats for their annual coat drive and will continue to do so throughout the month of December. This month, employees will raise funds for the Western South Dakota Meals program and collecting holiday gift donations for the Salvation Army Angel Tree Program.
