CMN Chapter DonationLake Charles, LA- The Lake Charles Chapter of Louisiana Credit Union League presented a $5,418 check to Cara Wyland, CMN Annual Events Manager for CHRISTUS St. Patrick Foundation. These donations stem from various fundraisers throughout the 2015 year, such as the annual barbecue and silent auction. The check presentation took place on Tuesday, November 10, during the Chapters bi-monthly meeting at Pats of Henderson Restaurant. In attendance were local representatives of the eighteen (18) participating credit unions in the lake area chapter, along with state league representatives, Jill Kitchens (VP of CU Services) and Vince Liberto (EVP, Sales & Marketing). The Lake Charles Chapter of credit unions are the first in the state to participate in Credit Unions for Kids, which is a nonprofit collaboration of credit unions, chapters, leagues/associations and business partners from across the country. Fundraising activities aim to benefit more than 170 Childrens Miracle Network Hospitals. Adopted as the credit union movements charity of choice, credit unions are the 3rd largest sponsor of CMN Hospitals. "This is what the credit union movement is all about. Together, we can achieve so much more. On behalf of CSE Federal Credit Union, we are proud to be a part of something special and look forward to working even harder in 2016 to help enrich the lives in our community," commented Clark Yelverton, President/CEO of CSE Federal Credit Union. With 250,000 employees and 100 million members, the credit union community can make a HUGE difference in the lives of sick children...one dollar at a time. Since 1996, the Credit Unions for Kids program has generated over $130 million for Childrens Miracle Network Hospitals; $10.2 million in 2013 alone! But the need continues to grow.
