Young adults with physical and intellectual challenges received guidance on basic money and financial terms, ATM usage, checking and savings accounts, and check writing guidelines.
The financial literacy seminar was one of Schott Communities' life-enriching programs aimed at encouraging young adults to seek independent living. BrightStar Credit Union, based in Sunrise, was selected to teach the seminar because of its instructors expertise in teaching financial literacy to Broward County students in all grades.
