Connex Credit Union Donates 12 Turkeys for Local Food Bank
December 9, 2015
HAMDEN, Conn. On Thursday, November 19, and Friday, November 20, iHeartMedia communities hosted their 25th annual Stuff-A-Bus Thanksgiving campaign. Throughout the day, disc jockeys from the radio stations helped collect food and money for the Connecticut Food Bank and less fortunate families this holiday season. Connex Credit Union pitched in for the annual holiday tradition with a contribution of 12 whole turkeys.
"It brings us great joy knowing that our donation will help feed numerous families this Thanksgiving," said Louise Nestor, director of marketing, Connex Credit Union. "I am proud to work for a credit union that is committed to bringing joy to others, and is an embodiment of the true spirit of the holiday season."
This is the third consecutive year that Connex has participated in Stuff-A-Bus. It is just one of many community initiatives that they partake in during the holiday season as part of their ConnexCares philanthropic program. The credit union will also be collecting food at their North Haven Branch for the North Haven food pantry, as well as collecting common household items that can be used in assisting those looking to transition from shelter living at the Columbus House and into a home of their own.
