Foothill Credit Union Gives Back to Community
December 8, 2015
Arcadia, CA - As the season of giving fills the air, Foothill Credit Union has been doing its share of giving as well. In the month of November, Foothill gave back to the local communities in several ways. Foothill team members got in on the action by running, donating, and decorating.
Foothill was a major sponsor of the Bryan Clay Fit4Fall 5k this year, and even gathered a team to participate in the event. The Fit4Fall 5k event, which took place on November 21, 2015, benefits the Bryan Clay Foundation, which supports health and wellness programs for Glendora schools. The event encourages students at local schools to participate to help their school win the title of "Glendoras Fittest School," and also earn a $5,000 donation from the foundation. This years winning school was La Fetra Elementary School.
Employees at Foothill also worked together to collected canned foods and Thanksgiving goods to donate to City of Hope. The Latinos for Hope Diversity Resource Group and Prayer Warriors group at City of Hope work together each year to make Thanksgiving baskets to give to patients who have been displaced because of their treatment needs. Foothill helps with the food collections and is happy to have helped complete 65 baskets for patients and their families this year. In addition, approximately 300 pounds of canned and dry packaged food was donated to a local food bank.
To wrap up the month Foothill completed its second break room make over of the year at Glendora High School. The school had entered Foothills Break Room Make Over contest earlier this year and was selected to have their teachers break room completely made over. The renovation included new flooring, new kitchen appliances, a TV, fresh paint, and new kitchen cabinets. On November 30, 2015 the completed room was revealed to the entire staff of the school. Foothill plans to continue running the contest once each year.
Foothill and its team remain committed to providing service excellence to the Foothill communities. The credit union specializes is serving school district employees and hospital employees but welcomes members seeking to experience the Credit Union Difference.
