downloadBannockburn, IL Staff from Great Lakes Credit Union (GLCU) took time out on Sunday, November 22nd to help the less fortunate in local communities. The 7th Annual Giving Dinner was hosted at the Greenbelt Cultural Center in North Chicago, IL, in partnership with the Shalem Seventh-day Adventist Church. This event offered a free holiday buffet to approximately 100 low-income and homeless individuals who were encouraged to attend by local missions and shelters. Live entertainment, games, and singing performances were provided for those who might otherwise have not had a hot meal, companionship or celebration during the holidays. Coats, hats, gloves and warm clothing items, generously donated by GLCU members and staff, were distributed to all individuals and families who are in need. Children also received donated books and stuffed animals. During a continuing challenging economic climate for many, GLCU staff felt privileged to be able to give back to struggling individuals and receive a smile or gesture of gratitude in return. GLCU has over 70,000 members and almost $700 million in assets. The credit union is headquartered in Bannockburn, Illinois, and has 13 branches located in Antioch, Bolingbrook, Country Club Hills, Crystal Lake, Gurnee, Naperville, North Chicago, Oak Lawn, Round Lake Beach, Waukegan, Woodstock, Willow Springs, and Zion.
