Zeal Credit Union is Dedicated to Financial Literacy

CaptureLivonia, MI�- Zeal Credit Union recently welcomed Tiffany Sweet as its new Youth and Community Development Coordinator.� Sweet is responsible for overseeing Zeals financial literacy programs for youth and student credit unions in local schools.
����������� According to Lisa Fawcett, vice president of marketing for Zeal Credit Union, Sweets background makes her well suited for the position.
����������� Sweet, who lives in Redford with her husband and two young sons, previously taught English and history in Michigan public and charter schools. Sweet also has a strong affiliation with credit unions. When she was six months old, her mother started working as a teller for a Detroit area credit union, and today is CEO.� Other family members and friends also work in the credit union industry.
����������� "When it was take your child to work day, I remember going to the credit union with my mom," said Sweet. "In my college speech class, I gave a persuasive speech encouraging people to join a credit union."
����������� Sweet earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Eastern Michigan University with a major in English and minor in history. She later received a Masters degree in reading from Grand Canyon University.
����������� "Im very passionate about financial literacy for youth and helping them contribute to society in a big way," added Sweet.� "Im delighted to have this opportunity to help Zeal Credit Union expand its outreach."
����������� At present, Sweet is assisting with nine of Zeals student and parent-led volunteer school credit unions as well as upcoming credit union events for youth.
����������� These include a breakfast with Santa party, sponsored by Zeal Credit Union, at Westland Shopping Center on Saturday, December 5, 2015.�
On Tuesday, December 29, 2015, the credit union will also host its annual Rock n Roller Skate Party for members of the Rock Star Savers program at the Bonaventure Skate Center in Farmington Hills.
