The credit union collects non-perishable food items throughout the year and makes quarterly donations to food banks in their service area. No one should have to wonder where their next meal is coming from and its unfortunate that so many people in our community do," said Marshall Boutwell, President/CEO for Peach State. "Most people wouldnt believe how difficult it is to keep food on our shelves, so donations like the one from Peach State help to meet the needs of our community / the people we serve," said Deborah Segue, social worker for the Greenforest Social Ministry. About the Greenforest Social Ministry The Greenforest Social ministry is an emergency service provider dedicated to the reduction of hunger and the elimination of homelessness in Dekalb County. The churchs outreach ministry and supportive services play an integral role in meeting emergency food and short term housing needs of at risk individuals and families by providing Short-term payments to third parties creditors to prevent evictions and foreclosure. The Ministrys myriad of supportive services includes vouchers to prevent utility shut-off and a food pantry that provides nutrition assistance to approximately 100 families per month. Additionally the church provides Thanksgiving and Christmas to more than 250 needy families each year. Each Saturday the Greenforest provides sack lunches to 500 homeless individuals in downtown Atlanta.
