Somerville, MA - Naveo Credit Union raises over $300 for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society during their Costumed for a Cure event.
Naveo Credit Union employees dressed up in Halloween costumes on Friday, October 30 and raised over $300 for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society during their Costumed for a Cure event. Naveo raised over $150 at their branches in one week and then matched funds raised.
The Costumed for a Cure event has become an annual participation at Naveo, one that members and employees look forward to. In recent years, the event has led to a competition between both branches for collections as well as costume originality. This year, Naveos Somerville Retail staff featured handmade Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Costumes.
To boost collections, employees were given the opportunity to trade in their business clothes for jeans the week before Halloween with a donation to the cause.
"Costumed for a Cure is a great way to create awareness and raise much-needed funds for organizations such as The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Our members and employees are proud to do their part in raising money for a great cause, all the while having fun. We look forward to raising even more money for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society next year," commented Rui F. Domingos, Chief Executive Officer at Naveo Credit Union.
