NEFCU Donates $2,000 to Mission United

CaptureWESTBURY, NY The Westbury -based credit union NEFCU is once again supporting the efforts of the United Way of Long Island by donating $2,000 to�its "Mission United" initiative that aids returning veterans and their families on Long Island. Since it began supporting the "Mission United" initiative, NEFCU has donated more than $9,000 to United Way of Long Islands efforts to assist returning servicemen and women. Valerie Garguilo, vice president of marketing and community relations for NEFCU, presented United Way of Long Island President Theresa Regnante with the $2,000 check during a ceremony held at NEFCUs headquarters. Mission United aidsveterans and their families on Long Island. The program provides them withthe services needed to identify a career path and achieve financial stability. This includes emergency financial assistance, career training, employment linkages, veteran resources and case management. "Over the last 75 years NEFCU has proudly supported our neighbors and communities, and once again were honored to lend a hand in a time of need for those who servedour country," said Edward Paternostro, president and CEO of NEFCU. "We understand that transitioning back to civilian life can be difficult for veterans and their families, which is�why we salute the United Way for this much needed effort to help those who sacrificed so much for all of us."
